I'm not sure what it is about Romans this week but passages seem to keep popping up and the theme continues in the same vein; Contrasting what we were , what we have and are becoming, where we are going and what we will become.
Don't live any longer the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect.
Reading this I found myself pausing and reflecting on every phrase in the passage: Don't live as the world lives: Make your priority seeking the kingdom of God, to walk closer in the footsteps of our Lord, disregard those things that are priority for the world around us, wealth, popularity, fame.
Change your thinking: Focus on the word of God. View your environment though God's word which will filter out the noise.
THEN we will be able to 'Test' or sample, be aware of what God wants for us: OF COURSE the world doesn't 'get it' because the message is not of this world. Only after we modify our living and thinking can we fully grasp the will of God in our lives.
You will agree!: WOW... so as we move toward this our thinking aligns with God's. We can fully embrace God's plan for us knowing it is both pleasing and PERFECT... Perfect for us, Perfectly in the will of the Lord, Perfectly joy and contentment.
